Safety is the number one priority of AECI. Please NEVER touch a power line, or any object
such as a tree touching a power line even if you are 100% positive the power is off. Only
professionally trained and equipped persons are equipped with the knowledge and training to
safely remove objects and obstructions from Power lines.
Many of AECI employees work in a hazardous environment which can lead to serious injury or
even death. Most commonly, line crews are most at risk during power outages. This is
generally due to weather related incidents such as wind and/or ice etc....During these times
AECI employees often work to restore power during poor conditions. If however, AECI
employees feel they are in a situation that is not safe they will NOT restore power until it is
safe to do so.
We understand that electricity is a needed service and especially here in Minnesota where
many of us rely on power for our source of heat and cooking. Please keep in mind during
power outages that AECI is doing everything possible to restore your power as quickly as
possible...so long as it is safe to do so.
Call before you dig! Please, call the Gopher State One Call hot line to
have ALL utilities located prior to digging. AECI buries our facilities a
safe depth but do to our changing landscapes you can not be 100%
sure how deep our facilities are in the ground! Be SAFE call Gopher
