Outage Restoration
AECI works to restore your

possible.
Power Outages
why does my power go out?
ARROWHEAD ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE, INC.

Weather Related:
Most power outages are due to
inclement weather such as high winds, ice, and heavy
snows. During these storms AECI works to restore your power as quickly as possible - so
long as it is safe for our employees to do so.
Planned Outages:
On occasion AECI must intentionally create a power outage in order to finish a project or do
some work. This type of outage is rare and generally affects a minimal amount of members.
When large outages are planned we post an announcement on Boreal & provide WTIP (90.7
& 91.7 FM) with a public service announcement.
A special note to members with Underground Power lines:
Underground Power lines do NOT eliminate the potential for you to have a power outage.
Beginning at our substations, most Power lines are Overhead until a certain point. During a
storm, if a tree falls on an overhead line which is providing power to your underground line
you may incur a power outage.
Additionally, in other situations the underground power line can be
nicked, cut by rock, tree
roots or those who may be digging without first calling
Gopher State One
Call.
