Arrowhead Electric Cooperative names new General Manager

On Wednesday, November 17th, the Arrowhead Electric Cooperative board of directors named Jeanne Muntean as General Manager of the cooperative.  Jeanne Muntean began her career in the utility industry when she joined Arrowhead Electric Cooperative in 1981.  Over the past thirty years at Arrowhead Electric Ms. Muntean has worked in operations, finance, human resources and most recently as the assistant general manager.

Ms. Muntean has successfully completed the National Rural Cooperatives Loss Control Internship (2002) and Management Internship Program (2007).   She led the cooperative’s effort to rebuild and expand its headquarters office building in 2008 that achieved LEED Gold Certification, the first in Cook County, Minnesota.

As a lifelong resident of Minnesota’s North Shore communities, Ms. Muntean is familiar with the challenges and successes residents and businesses face on an on-going basis.  She has supported our community and industry through her activities with the Town of Tofte, President of her church, and secretary of the Rural Electric Management Association’s financial managers group.

Ms. Muntean replaces outgoing general manager, Don Stead who elected to take a position with Homer Electric Association in Homer, Alaska.  Arrowhead Electric Cooperative Board President Wayne Anderson noted, “Transition of general management at a cooperative is never an easy process.   As a board of directors we are confident and excited to put Ms. Muntean’s extensive knowledge of the Arrowhead Electric system to use in a role that will position the cooperative to best serve our members’ needs.”
