Peak Alert ~ Wednesday, August 11, 2010 ~ 1:00pm-8:00pm

With this mornings blast of rain it may not seem like a hot summer day

to many.  However, continued summer heat throughout the Mid-West will

keep demand for electricity at a peak today.

Arrowhead Electric Cooperative is asking our members to help by

conserving electricity today, Wednesday, August 11 between 1:00pm and

8:00pm.

You can lower your cooperatives wholesale power costs and lessen the

impact on your electric bill by reducing your electricity consumption on

Wednesday, August 11th from 1:00pm to 8:00pm.  Waiting till after 8pm to

run appliances such as the dishwasher and washing machine go along ways

to helping reduce the impact of higher than normal electricity costs.

Other important conservation measures include cooking foods for dinner

which do not require the use of an electric stove or oven and drying

clothes outdoors instead of in the dryer.
