Spring 2016 Operation Round Up Grants

Operation Round Up Grant Applications Available Now!

Do you know a great local nonprofit organization that could use some extra funds? Arrowhead Cooperative’s Operation Round Up provides grants to groups serving Cook County.

Recently funded projects include:

  • In 2014 Cook County Extension received a grant of $3,530 to support the Summer Backpack Food Program in its initial year. The program was able to serve 21 children and demonstrated the level of need in the community, encouraging other groups to address hunger issues in the community.
  • Sugarloaf Cove received funds in 2013 to develop a revised trail guide for visitors, increasing memberships, donations, and overall visitor experience.
  • Cook County Local Energy Project’s first year of their Residential Energy Efficiency Program (REEP) benefited from an Operation Round Up grant in the fall of 2013.
  • Last spring awards were granted to the Grand Marais Art Colony, North Shore Visitation Center, Sawtooth Mountain Elementary School, and several other organizations doing important work in our community.

Applicants are reminded to review the Grant Guidelines, available along with the application form on our website at aecimn.com/operation-round-up/. Funds are generally not awarded for purchases of equipment or other capital expenses. Grant requests should be program-based.

Applications are due in Arrowhead Cooperative’s office by 4pm on Friday, April 15th. For more information email Sara McManus at smcmanus@arrowhead.coop.
