Combination Technician – State of Minnesota Power Limited Licensed
Arrowhead Electric Cooperative is seeking a State of Minnesota Power Limited Licensed Technician to join our team. The combination technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of customer premises equipment. Typically installs drop wires, network interface devices, and performs initial wiring or rewiring for new subscriber systems. May also work at the business office, repairing CPE dropped off by customers. Duties include installation and repair for telephone, video, internet and other services offered by the Cooperative to residential and business customers. The combination technician must have excellent communication and customer service skills. When not working at customer premises or on customer premise equipment the combination technician will provide assistance to outside plant personnel as needed in the construction, maintenance and repair of AEC communications facilities; including the splicing and terminating of fiber optic cables. This position will work closely with AEC contractors during the initial build of the AEC FTTX network. A State of Minnesota Power Limited Technician license or the ability to secure within 60 days of employment is required. Prefer minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience with IP or FTTX networks. Arrowhead Electric Cooperative (AEC) is seeking a Communications Lineworker to join our team. Primary responsibilities include installation, maintenance, and servicing of AEC’s fiber optic network in conjunction with other AEC staff members to support FTTH services. This work includes the hanging of strand, lashing of fiber optic cables, installation of splice cases, conduit, setting of pedestals and installing network interface devices at customer premises. This position will be responsible for most fiber optic field splicing and fiber optic cable terminating required by AEC. When not working directly on the fiber network this position may assist wiring customer premises for the provision of voice, video, internet and other services. The communications linewoker must have excellent communication skills and be able to work as part of a team. Requirements include the ability to climb utility poles and work out of a bucket on overhead lines in the power zone. A minimum of 2 years experience in the field of communications is preferred.
